Originating from Cheshire, UK, and now calling the Adelaide foothills her home, Elizabeth L James is a versatile artist and graphic designer for print and online. Elizabeth works in a variety of styles and media with a particular interest in inked and acrylic Zentangle, ZIA and Mandala art. Elizabeth particularly loves capturing wild animals in watercolour and soft pastel and is currently working on a series of Native American Indian-inspired pieces in mixed media and Chakra Animal Spirit Zentangle Inspired Art. She simply creates what she loves in whatever medium suits the subject and presentation with a signature use of bold colour and contrast.

Elizabeth creates Soul Art Mandalas – Channelled graphical representations of energy which form personalised artwork accompanied by an interpretive reading – and she is currently working on a series of Adult Colouring In books.
My work is an eclectic collection of whatever inspires. I love working with a wide variety of materials – a piece can evolve from a simple line. I work from the heart and see art as my therapy; my getaway. I take inspiration from sound, movement, colour, texture, pattern, a particular genre, time period and more. My art grew from a passion for character illustration and after ten years in graphic and web design I discovered mandalas through which I could combine creative expression, logical geometry, colour and space. I quickly moved onto Zentangle-Inspired Art (ZIA) and then found myself with a paintbrush in hand – loving the journey!
